Who is GAFAR AMINU AKANNI !

Mr. Gafar Akanni attended Olabisi Onabanjo University (formerly Ogun State University) Ago-Iwoye, where he obtained Bachelors Degree in Banking and Finance. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University (formerly University of Ife), Ile-Ife. He has over 30years combined experience in Banking and Capital Markets, where he has acquired broad experience in Corporate Finance, Portfolio Management, Accounting and Research Desks of major brokerage houses in Nigeria, such as CSL Stockbrokers Limited, ESL Securities Limited and Monument Securities and Finance Limited.

He joined the Research team of CSL Stockbrokers Limited in 1999 as Equity Market Researcher and left in 2003 to ESL Securities Limited, as Head of Research. In ESL Securities, he was a team member on major Capital Market equity raising and listing of companies. 

He joined Monument Securities and Finance Limited as Head of Research in 2008. He moved from Research department to become the Chief Financial Officer and later became the Ag. Managing Director, Monument Securities and Finance Limited until 2016. Mr. Akanni was appointed the Managing Director of Aquifer Capital Management Limited in 2018 and held the position till 2020 before moving over to Focus Trio Limited. Mr. Akanni is a Chartered Banker, Chartered Stockbroker, Chartered Tax Practitioner and a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. Mr. Akanni is the Managing Director of Focus Trio Limited and currently the Chairman of Corporate Homes Support and Care Limited.
